Alan Shalloway - CEO, Senior Consultant, Trainer, Author

Alan Shalloway is the founder and CEO of Net Objectives. With almost 40 years of experience, Alan is an industry thought leader. He helps companies transition to Lean and Agile methods enterprise-wide as well teaches courses in Lean, Kanban, Scrum, Design Patterns, and Object-Orientation. Alan has developed training and coaching methods for Lean-Agile that have helped his clients achieve long-term, sustainable productivity gains using these methods. He is a popular speaker at prestigious conferences worldwide. He is the primary author of Design Patterns Explained: A New Perspective on Object-Oriented Design, Lean-Agile Pocket Guide for Scrum Teams and is currently writing “Lean-Agile Software Development: Achieving Enterprise Agility” and "Essential Skills for the Agile Developer." He has a Masters in Computer Science from M.I.T. as well as a Masters in Mathematics from Emory University. -

Ken Pugh - Fellow Consultant

Ken Pugh is a fellow consultant with Net Objectives. He consults, trains, mentors, and testifies on technology topics ranging from object-oriented design to Linux/Unix to the system development process. He has written several programming books, including the Jolt Award winner, Prefactoring, and has served clients from London to Sydney. When not computing, he enjoys snowboarding, windsurfing, biking, and hiking the Appalachian Trail. He is the author of Prefactoring.

Scott Bain is a 30+-year veteran in computer technology, with a background in development, engineering, and design. He has also designed, delivered, and managed training programs for certification and end-user skills, both in traditional classrooms and via distance learning. Scott teaches courses and consults on Agile Analysis and Design Patterns, Advanced Software Design, and Sustainable Test-Driven Development. Scott is a frequent speaker at developer conferences such as JavaOne and SDWest. Jim Trott - Senior Consultant, Trainer, Author

Jim Trott is a senior consultant for Net Objectives. He has used object-oriented and pattern-based analysis techniques throughout his 20 year career in knowledge management and knowledge engineering. He is the co-author, with Alan Shalloway, of Design Patterns Explained: A New Perspective on Object-Oriented Design. He is currently co-authoring three other books in the agile and software development area, including Lean-Agile Software Development: Achieving Enterprise Agility, and the Lean-Agile Pocket Guide for Scrum Teams, and is developing training in teamwork and retrospection. He is a knowledge management consultant for an international relief and development agency. He has a Master of Science in Applied Mathematics, a Master of Business Administration, and a Master of Arts in Intercultural Studies. An Associate Technical Fellow of a large aerospace company, he has also worked in the energy industry, banking and finance, software development, and artificial intelligence. -

Max Guernsey has been in the industry officially for 10-years. He is a second generation programmer; much of his software development experience was passed down to him from his father prior to entering the workforce. Max teaches our TDD Database Course and developed DataConstructor, a tool that enables incremental database development. -

Amir Kolsky is a Senior Consultant, Coach and Trainer for Net Objectives. Amir has been in the Computer Sciences field for over 25 years. He worked for 10 years in IBM Research, and spent 9 more years doing Chief Architect and CTO work in assorted companies big and small. He has been involved with Agile since 2000. He founded MobileSpear and subsequently XPand Software which does Agile Coaching, Software Education and Agile Projects in Israel and Europe. Rod Claar - Associate Trainer

Rod Claar is an Associate Trainer with Net Objectives. He has been designing, developing and implementing software since the late 1980s. His early work was driven by a desire to learn and solve work related problems that required custom software. This led to a career change to the software industry. He spent over 10 years developing software, implementing solutions and managing software products used by the largest retailers in North America. This experience makes him especially valuable to retailers. Many of the solutions Rod has been involved with have been data centric. His experience in this area and agile process experience have led him to start working on a book dealing with the problems of managing enterprise data in an agile environment. His broad business and software development background give him the insight and experience to effectively help software teams of any size. Rod is the principal in developing Net Objectives services for teams using VSTS/TFS including courses on being Agile in a VSTS managed project, custom reports, custom process templates and coaching/needs assessments. Rod is a Certified ScrumMaster Practitioner (CSM-P), and Agile Coach. -
Bob Hartman - Associate Trainer

Bob Hartman is an Associate Trainer with Net Objectives. In addition to having a Masters degree in Computer Science, he has over 30 years of experience developing software, including 7 years running his own consulting company and 10+ years of experience at the VP of Development level or higher. In 2000/2001, he led a team of 10 using a version of eXtreme Programming (XP). That particular team became as productive as a team of 28 had been previously. This experience convinced him that Agile processes were the wave of the future. Since that time every project he has been involved with has been delivered using agile processes resulting in numerous products receiving the highest possible ratings from reviewers, and more importantly, those products had a dramatic positive impact on customers. Bob is a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and is deeply committed to helping product development companies learn how to change in ways that will allow them to quickly deliver products that have extremely high quality without increasing their budget. -

Rob Myers is an Associate Trainer for Net Objectives. He has over 20 years of professional experience in software development, including projects for industry leaders in medical, aerospace, and financial services. In the late 90’s, Rob became an eXtreme Programming coach and traveled throughout the country assisting teams with Agile Software Development practices and object-oriented design techniques. Rob brings to the classroom his passion for value-oriented software development, team development, and sane work environments. -

Andrea Bain has been designing and creating software since the days of punch cards and Cobol, but her main love has always been art. The fusion of art and technology is a particular fascination for her, and so she has been involved in everything from film colorization to flash animation. Today she focuses her attention on technological and graphics support for educational and marketing needs.
