Seminar: Test Driven Development Pair Programming Game
In this presentation, Rob Myers and Steve Bockman will demonstrate the basics of both pair programming and test-driven development by building a sample application from the ground up, following the rules of the Test Driven Development Pair Programming Game.
This game was originally developed by Brad Wilson and Peter Provost of Microsoft Corporation. You can read more about it at Peter Provost's Blog.
Rob Myers is a senior consultant and instructor at Net Objectives. He has over 20 years of professional experience in software development, including projects for industry leaders in medical, aerospace, and financial services.
In the late 90’s, Rob became an eXtreme Programming coach and traveled throughout the country assisting teams with Agile Software Development practices and object-oriented design techniques. He currently teaches Test-Driven Development, Design Patterns Explained, Implementing Scrum for Your Team, Lean-Agile Testing, and a number of other courses.
Steve Bockman is an independent software developer who began his career in 1977 in a utility position, installing software packages for a manufacturer of business computers. Since then he has worked in the fields of speech recognition, terrain analysis, computer graphics, desktop publishing, industrial automation and web applications.
Steve’s first exposure to anything Agile occurred around 2000, when a co-worker suggested that they try pair programming. He liked what he saw, but didn’t get involved again until 2005, while participating in a development effort in which changing requirements were part of the ground rules. He has been happily exploring Agile techniques ever since.
