Seminar: Which Agile Process is Right for You? Choosing Between Scrum, Kanban and Scrumban
While many identify Scrum as the Agile process to use, there are other, often better, alternatives. Ones that many believe are inherently superior to Scrum. This talk introduces two of these other methodologies: Kanban Software Development and Scrumban.
Kanban Software Development is a software framework based on the Lean-Thinking of maximizing the flow of value to the customers. It focuses on building complete, usable features and delivering them to customers in the fastest manner possible while creating them with high quality.
Kanban is often a better solution for a team than Scrum. In particular, if the team is:
- When specialized roles make it difficult to have certain people available across teams
- Doing mostly maintenance work and stories are small and don’t need to be grouped together
- As a way to transition to Agile where waterfall processes are entrenched
Scrumban is a hybrid of Scrum and Kanban. It is often useful to overcome problems a Scrum team is having –such as specialized, overworked members. It also is a way to transition to Kanban from Scrum when Kanban provides a better solution.
In this seminar, participants will learn:
- What is Kanban Software Development
- What is Scrumban
- When should I choose Scrum, Kanban or Scrumban
- Insights to improve any process they are currently using
