Scrum/Agile Coach-Trainers needed in Philadelphia

Net Objectives is looking for a Scrum/Agile Coach in Philadelphia. Experience with large scale Agile/Scrum is useful as well as any experience in Lean. Training experience is also a major plus as most of our staff do both.

Our firm is already global, but we are setting up a serious presence on the East Coast. We are the only company that offers training in all of the following areas:

  • Lean
  • Agile process
  • Agile analysis
  • Design Patterns
  • Test-Driven Development
  • QA/Testing

We have several enterprise engagements around the country, but our East Coast clientele is growing very quickly. Because we have a policy of not requiring people to travel more than one week a month, we need to set up more of an East Coast presence. We need people who can train and/or coach teams new to agile methods. They will be supported by trainers who teach the teams Test-Driven Development and Lean Software Development when that is incorporated into the transition.

Candidates must be proficient in Scrum. Experience in Test-Driven Development, Lean and Enterprise engagements is a definite plus.

We have great benefits, but one of the major reasons to work for us is if you want to assist others in being effective and you like working with a team of dedicated people.

If you are interested, please send me an email with a resume to:

At this point we are only looking for people in Philadelphia. We are not looking for contractors or independent consultants - just full time employees.

To give you a sense of our company, here is our CompanyValues page from our internal wiki.

Net Objectives is based on the following principles:

  • integrity first
  • the highest purpose in life is service to others
  • respect people
  • our purpose is to add value to our customers and ourselves
  • sustainability is important
  • innovation is important
  • money is an indicator of the value received from us by society. That if we focus on providing value - the money will follow.

Integrity first This doesn't just mean obeying the law or abiding by your agreements. Integrity is being consistent with your values.

The Highest purpose in life is service to others. Serving others means enabling them to live their life in a way that benefits them while being a benefit to the greater good.

Respect People This refers mostly to ourselves and our clients/prospects. Our people have intrinsic knowledge, abilities, motivations, ... that we want to enable them to use to their and our value. Our customers require our respect for us to do our best job.

Adding value By focusing on adding value we focus on service. Both to our customers and ourselves. This aligns us with forces in the universe we may not see but which are there.

Sustainability We have to sustain ourselves and our company. This means respect for the individual's limits as well as a solid look at the financials of the company.

Innovation We value innovation and prefer delivering value in areas where we have a competitive advantage. These are the areas where we can provide the most good to our customers. If we can add more value by being innovative, then we need to be innovative. This is typically the case. We have unique skills to innovate where others don't. "Those with the ability, have the responsibility." (Sorry Scott, from the Declaration of Independence, not Spiderman).

Money as an indicator of value While money is good, money is a poor goal. There are more effective ways to guide our actions.

Some additional notes The above implies long term relationships with both our customers and our staff. It implies patience and personal growth.

The short version of this is:

  • add value to our customers
  • add value to ourselves
  • be sustainable
  • strategic alignment
  • technical excellence

We guide ourselves with these values. When a decision needs to be made, we look to ensure they are consistent with this.

Additionally, but not a steering of what we do: we belong to a community which we like to contribute back to.
